Christopher Malinger was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin After joining the U.S. Coast Guard ; he traveled to Antarctica on two occasions, taking part in the early scientific exploration and supply logistics of that continent. Later, he became a member of the first expeditionary unit of the United States Coast Guard in Vietnam, Squadron One. He eventually enlisted in the U.S. Army, as a special technician, later using his skills in journalism as a public affairs writer and photographer.
Christopher Malinger began his writing career as a public affairs reporter for the U.S. Army. Following his retirement, he delved into writing short stories, later becoming a mystery novelist. He is a featured writer in Central Florida’s Village Neighbors Magazine, Great Living Magazine, and The Horizon Magazine. A recipient of several awards for his short stories, he won the silver award in the 2017 Royal Palm Literary Award Competition for his novella The Wabele; a tale of possession and revenge. His latest novel, Cat’s Paw, involves a fictional account of the mysterious loss of British European Airlines Flight 284 in 1967. Other works include a collection of short stories, The Back Roads of Terror, The Unattended War, Scrubbed (Florida Writers Association, Silver Award 2019), Chinamans Bluff and Time Thief. His new novel, Murder by Zoom, is currently being offered for consideration by literary agents. He recently branched out, marketing his work to the film and entertainment industry. He lives in Central Florida with his wife Eileen.
